GSS Car Rental — Lease Terms & Conditions

Please read the following terms carefully before completing your booking. By checking the confirmation box, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and confirm that you have reviewed all rental details. A hard copy of this agreement will be signed by both parties upon vehicle pickup.

This agreement is executed in English. If any provision is deemed invalid, the remaining portions remain in full force. Both parties are bound by Georgian law.

Article 1 Lease, payment & deposit

Rental period & payment

•The rental period is defined as one day (24 hours); the daily rate is specified in the booking confirmation
•Comprehensive insurance and all applicable taxes included in accordance with Georgian law
•Full rental payment must be made by card or bank transfer upon pickup
•Minimum rental period is 72 hours (3 days)

Security deposit

•A deposit of $200 USD (or GEL equivalent) is required
•Security deposit must be paid in cash at pickup
•Full payment and deposit must be settled upon car pickup
•Deposit is refunded upon return of the vehicle provided no new damage is found
•Deposit is withheld if any traffic fines (including video fines) are outstanding

Article 2 Obligations of the parties

✓Lessor obligations (GSS Car Rental)

•Deliver the exact same vehicle specified in the booking confirmation
•Provide the vehicle in proper technical condition with a full tank of fuel
•Conduct a joint visual inspection of the vehicle together with the customer upon pickup
•Provide all extras requested and specified in the booking form (child seat, Wi-Fi, rooftop tent, etc.)

👤Customer obligations

•Make all payments on time
•Maintain the vehicle in good working condition, accounting for normal wear and tear
•Take all necessary measures to ensure the vehicle remains operational, including proper refueling
•Strictly avoid driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
•Never leave car keys inside the vehicle; ensure all doors are locked and windows closed when unattended
•Return the vehicle with the same fuel level as received and free of waste inside the cabin
•Failure to return the car clean and free of waste may result in an additional cleaning fee

✓ Driver age requirements: minimum 23 years old, maximum 75 years old, valid driving license with at least 3 years of driving experience. GSS Car Rental reserves the right to refuse rental if requirements are not met.

Article 3 Driving restrictions & penalties

General road restrictions

•For sedans and minivans: driving on unpaved, damaged, or under-construction roads is strictly prohibited
•Even for 4x4 vehicles, certain roads are strictly off-limits (see prohibited roads)
•If returned more than 2 hours late, an additional full day rental fee will be charged

✖ Penalty for driving on restricted roads: $500 USD

Article 4 Accidents, damage & insurance

🚨Incident procedure — follow these steps immediately

Notify the police immediately by calling 112
Contact GSS Car Rental immediately
Remain at the vehicle; do not relocate the car from the accident location until traffic police arrive
Obtain an official police report in every case

✖ Failure to report an incident immediately to the police and to GSS Car Rental will result in the insurance being voided. Any unreported or post-rental damage will be charged to the customer at full cost.

⚠ If damage is discovered after the rental period that was not noted in the initial inspection (photos taken at pickup or vehicle inspection checklist), the customer is responsible for full compensation at their own expense.

Insurance coverage details

Standard insurance (included)

Included in all rentals

•All vehicles insured through ALDAGI Insurance Company, one of the leading providers in Georgia
•Coverage applies in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi and across the country
•If driver is at fault: maximum deductible (excess) is $200 USD
•If driver is not at fault per police report: deductible is $0
•Third Party Liability (TPL) covers damage to other vehicles or property up to $30,000 USD within Georgia

✖ Georgian insurance does not cover Third Party Liability in Armenia. If crossing into Armenia, you must purchase Armenian TPL insurance at the border. This is mandatory for all foreign vehicles entering Armenia.

Full insurance (optional)

Optional add-on

•Reduces financial responsibility in case of an at-fault accident
•Waives the standard $200 USD excess if the driver is at fault
•Fixed daily fee selected during booking
•Maximum total cost capped at $150 USD per rental regardless of rental length
•No security deposit required at pickup when full insurance is selected
•All other rental terms and insurance conditions remain unchanged
•Police report is mandatory in every accident case
•Without a police report, full insurance is considered invalid

Article 5 Supplementary provisions

5.1 — Compliance

Both parties are responsible for fulfilling their obligations under Georgian law. The customer is liable for any losses to GSS Car Rental or third parties resulting from a breach of this contract.

5.2 — Amendments

Any changes to this Agreement must be in writing and signed by both parties. Unilateral changes are invalid.

5.3 — Legal validity

If any provision is deemed invalid, the remaining portions of the Agreement remain in full force. This Agreement is executed in English in two original copies, one for each party.
